Theme Story and Genre

  • What is the central point of the film
    • The girl realizes that there is another side other than what she grew up believing.
  • What is the goal of the film
    •  To represent each side of an argument leaving the view to come up with his/her own conclusion
  • What is the movie abstract terms
    • An unmarried activist wants a baby
Basically some key points to keep in mind about this project are how we capture the scenes with lighting and to keep in mind having a consistent tone.

Notes on Structure

Subplots!!!
It was mentioned in the reading, but i think they also help carry the story.
Recently I have been watching a drama series on ABC Family, Pretty Little Liars and the one thing about that show is that it would not be as interesting if we did not go into the lives of the other characters and connect with there individual problems. Also each characters struggle is different, unlike the an episode of a different story  I saw which the all of the character went through  certain situations desperately, the theme was still the same.

The Basics of Screenwriting

Generally writing stories has not been my strongest point, though I can come up with a general idea. For me it is easier to come up with an idea and play it out start to finish in my head, however when it comes to writing it down or discussing it verbally things get lost.

When composing a screenplay, one is basically writing out out the different shots, fade ins and outs, basically put down the visual, verbally in a specific format.

Assignment 2D

This past week the Digital Cinema class go together as a whole and divided itself in half. For my group, Angelique, Christa, Yubu, and Rah, we have come up with a goal.  To show our audience all sides of an argument leaving the viewer to make her/her decision well informed.

Assignment 2E

One movie that has impacted me was "The Neverending Story," I first saw it as a kid and as was blown away by the effects shown. "The Neverending Story"goes on a journey with a boy who reads a book about a kid his age and the events within the story correlate with the events that happen to the other boy in real life. Watching the movie now I saw quite a few technical things that now a days would have been corrected, along with stage props and shots of "the Nothing" destroying everything in its path. Despite whatever fault this movie has, it has encouraged me to experiment with portraying a fantasy world in real life.
