The Basics of Screenwriting

Generally writing stories has not been my strongest point, though I can come up with a general idea. For me it is easier to come up with an idea and play it out start to finish in my head, however when it comes to writing it down or discussing it verbally things get lost. 

When composing a screenplay, one is basically writing out out the different shots, fade ins and outs, basically put down the visual, verbally in a specific format.
